OUR MISSION
The key issue that we believe God has put in us; is to be a very diverse people. When we look at the Kingdom Family in Heaven we see a very diverse group. There are all nations, tribes and tongues in God's family in heaven. We believe that the Lord has asked us to plant a church that is diverse in many ways; ethnically/racially, generationally (young and old), and socio-economically diverse (rich and the needy side by side) worshipping, serving and loving side by side. We believe we are to be a tapestry of great diversity in color, form and expression. A beautiful tapestry that would glorify God and would flesh out the prayer of Jesus in John 17:20-22:“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."
As such, we prayerfully desire for our church to be multi-ethnic, multi-generational and socio-economically diverse. Each of these diverse people groups bring unique elements to the body and we believe that together they are much more, in the hands of God, then they could ever be individually/alone. The Central Suffolk area (not the geographic center but the demographic center), which encompasses the Township of Islip and portions of Babylon, Smithtown and Brookhaven, is a unique area that has people of all these distinctly different groups living just a few miles from each other; and so we come along side of those that already serve here to give what God has given us and support them and His cause here.
